Joannes Philipp "John" Fackler Birth: Dec. 17, 1801 Bavaria (Bayern), Germany Death: May 20, 1882 Rochester Monroe County New York, USA Joannes Philipp "John" Fackler was born in Godramstein, Bayern on 17 December 1801. His father was Christoph Ulrich Fackler and his mother was Anna Barbara Mergenthaler. He had one known sibling, Maria Susanna who was born in the same village in 1795. In about 1827, John married Susanna Hecker in the Evangelist Church in Bayern. He and Susanna had four children: Elisabetha Mary, born 1829 in Godramstein; John Philipp, born 1830 in Godramstein; Barbara born in 1841 in Godramstein; and Joanna, born Godramstein, date of birth unknown. John's children came to the USA in 1853, 1854 and 1861; while it is not known exactly when he came, he did appear in the household of his daughter Elisabeth and her husband, John Ferner, in the 1870 Census in Rochester, New York. John died on 20 May 1882 in Rochester. He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery on 22 May 1882. His cause of death was given simply as "old age". He was 80 years, 5 months and 3 days of age at the time of his death.
