Anna Ferner Braxmayer
Birth: Feb. 28, 1813
Bavaria (Bayern), Germany
Death: Oct. 5, 1882
Rochester
Monroe County
New York, USA
Anna Ferner Braxmayer was born in Godramstein, Bayern, on 28 February 1813, to Johann Jacob Ferner and his wife Anna Maria Rieg. She was the second child and first daughter of their known eight children. Anna married George Michael Braxmayer in Godramstein on 15 February 1838. Sailing out of Le Havre, France on the "Robert L. Lane", she arrived into the Port of New York on 16 November 1855. She traveled with her niece, 14 year old Catharine Eyer, the daughter of her brother-in-law Frank Eyer and her sister, Anna Maria Ferner. Husband George had preceeded her arrival into the United States. It is presumed that George and Anna were childless since no children have been found so far. Anna and her husband settled in Rochester, New York, in the 9th Ward where other Ferner family members had settled. On 5 October 1882, Anna died of hepatitis. She was 69 years, 7 months of age. Anna was buried in Mount Hope in the plot of John and Elisabeth Ferner, first cousins with whom she had a very close relationship.
