Pierson Grannis Haeg "Granny" Pierson, age 75, of Miami Springs, FL, formerly of the Twin Cities. Survived by wife of 53 years, Gloria (nee Sanderson); daughters Laurie Pierson, Cindy (Jonathan) Joyner, Karin (Tony) Letizia; sons Grannis "Geep" (Victoria) Pierson and Eric (Lisa) Pierson; two grandsons and four granddaughters; brother Ernie (Caryl) Pierson and their family Mary (Bob) LaBanca, John K. Pierson and Susan (Tim) Gruidl. Preceded in death by parents Enoch & Violet (nee Haeg) Pierson. Granny is a graduate of Minneapolis North High School and the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mortuary Science. He served in the US Air Force in Alaska during the Korean War. Granny was a funeral director at Listoe Wold Funeral Home in St. Paul and was an active member of the St. Paul Jaycees. A pioneer in the Funeral Shipping Industry, Granny was the co-founder of CMAS, a funeral livery service. He was an avid ice hockey player, coach, and he played in the Senior Olympics. Member of Grace Lutheran Church Miami Springs and the Mahi Shrine. Visitation 5-7 PM Friday, June 10th with 7 PM Funeral Service and reception supper to follow at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, West 50th St. and Vernon Ave at Hwy 100.
