Cletus C. Nikolaus
Cletus C. Nikolaus, 98, formerly of 237 S. 4th St., Columbia, died on Sunday at St. Annes Retirement Community where he has been residing for the past two years. He was the husband of the late Ruth Raver Nikolaus who predeceased him in 2001. Born in Columbia he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Cecelia Bittner Nikolaus. He retired from H.E. Crom Beverage Distributorship in Columbia where he had worked for 36 years. Cletus was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Columbia and was a member of the Holy Name Society. At one time he played Semi-Pro Basketball.
Surviving is a daughter: Sandra, wife of Robert Bender of Harrisburg; and a son: Robert C. Nikolaus of Columbia. Also surviving is a grandson: Jeffrey Bender; and two great-grandchildren: Tyler and Amanda Bender. He was predeceased by a brother: Joseph Nikolaus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4th and Cherry Streets, Columbia, PA on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Kenneth Lawrence as Celebrant. Final Commendation and Farewell will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m.
