Doris Anne Tritthart, former resident of Bartlesville, died Saturday morning at her home in Keys. Mrs. Tritthart was born in London, England on April 30, 1925, to Edward and Anne Mantel. She spent her formative years in London and met her future husband, Jimmy Tritthart Jr., during World War II. Mr. Tritthart was serving with the Army Air Corps stationed at Aldershot, England. Doris and Jimmy were married on Dec. 27, 1944. On March 5, 1946, Doris and their 5-month-old son, Rick, arrived in New York City on the Queen Mary. They traveled by train to Caney, Kan., and to be met by her husband. The young family lived in Pawhuska until May 1948, when they moved to the Labadie Heights community. Two more sons were born to the family, Curtiss in 1955 and John in 1962. Doris spent her days caring for her family and was an active member of the TransAtlantic Bride and Parents Association. She enjoyed baking and cooking special English dishes for her family. Jimmy passed away in 1990 and in 1998, Doris moved to Keys to share a home with her son, Rick, and his wife. She enjoyed traveling and visiting family in the U.S. and in England. In her later years she enjoyed watching TV and holding her cat, Tommy. She will be greatly missed especially the times she shared a "proper cup of tea" with her daughters-in-law and granddaughters. Doris is survived by her son, Rick and his wife Sheila of the home; Curtiss and his wife Laura of Bartlesville; John and his wife Sandy of Bartlesville; one brother, John Mantel of England; four grandchildren Donna Richey, Rich Tritthart, Megan Spear and Mark Tritthart and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. T. Lee Stephens of St. Luke's Episcopal Church officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory in Bartlesville. Family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of the Cherokee's, Darlene McCombs and Barbara McMichael who provided special care enabling Doris' family to keep her home until her death.
