Birth: Aug. 1, 1935 Story City Story County Iowa, USA Death: Feb. 10, 2016 Chariton Lucas County Iowa, USA Obituary for Leroy Wirth Leroy Wirth, 80 of Chariton, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Circle of Life Hospice/Legacy Lodge in Chariton. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Leroy's family. Joseph Leroy Wirth was born on August 1, 1935 to Joseph and Vernie Wirth on their family farm near Story City, Iowa. Leroy was one of ten children born to the couple. He graduated from Thompson Public School. In 1964, Leroy was united in marriage to Ellen Louise Ezarski. To this union, four children were born: Mark, Charles, Wyatt, and Danielle. The family lived on farms near several cities over the years, including Ames, Neotho, Decorah, and Chariton. Leroy held various jobs over the years, including working as a sales representative for both Montgomery Ward and House of Appliances in Ames, Iowa. He also traveled the world while working as a flight engineer for T.I.A. The job that Leroy was most passionate about, however, was farming. He loved every moment spent on his farm. Leroy is survived by his children: Mark Wirth of Chariton, Charles Wirth of Des Moines, Wyatt Wirth of Chariton, and Danielle Wirth of Williamson; grandchildren: Ritchie, Marina, Trinton, Adam, Kaleb, and Madison; and siblings: Gerald, Cecil, Mary Jo, Faye, Dennis, and Judy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen; parents, Joe and Vernie; and siblings: Juanita, Keith, and John.
