NEWPORT NEWS ? MSGT Edward Roy Corbin, USA Ret., 75, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001. He was a native of Boone County, Iowa, and had been a Peninsula resident for 46 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retiring after 24 years as an administrative specialist. Mr. Corbin was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline G. Corbin; one daughter, Carolyn R. Parkerson of Newport News; two sons, Michel P. Corbin of Smithfield and Gary J. Corbin of Reno, Nev.; four brothers, Jack, Jerry, Ronald and Donald Corbin, all of Davenport, Iowa; three sisters, Iona Ricketts and Rosella Schebler of Davenport and Mary Fincham of Nevada, Iowa; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Emma Corbin, and a brother, Lawrence "Abe" Corbin.
