Rose (Glaser) Hirsch

Rose was born and raised in Mott, North Dakota. She married Viol Hirsch in June of 1953 and moved to Mountlake Terrace, WA in 1955, where she and Viol raised three children. Family was important to Rose; she enjoyed living in the same neighborhood as her sister, Ann, and made frequent trips to Montana and North Dakota to visit her brothers and sisters.
Rose enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was proud of her beautiful yard and amazing rockery. Rose and Viol were recognized by the city of Mountlake Terrace in 2010 with the Evergreen award 'Pride of the Neighborhood'. Rose lived a long and happy life with many great friends. She and Viol were able to travel extensively in their retirement years.
Rose was preceded in death by her mother and father, Cecelia and Kasper Glaser; her son, Todd Hirsch; her sisters, Margaret Kautzmann and Ann Messier; and brother, Simon Glaser.
She is survived by her loving husband, Viol; brothers, Dan (Jeanette) Glaser, Henry Glaser; children, Elaine (Steve) Youngkrantz and Tim (Lori) Hirsch; grandchildren, Rachel Youngkrantz and Nick Youngkrantz; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at St. Pius X Church in Mountlake Terrace. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Edmonds Puget Sound Cancer Center or Providence Hospice.
