Isidore A. Glasser, 74, Bismarck, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Dec. 27, 2010, at Medcenter One, Bismarck, surrounded by his family and friends. He left our world just as he lived it in peace. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Isidore was born Jan. 4, 1936, in Mandan, the son of Alfonse and Rose (Emter) Glasser. He was raised and educated in the St. Joseph area south of Glen Ullin. Following high school, Isidore entered the U.S. Army and served from Feb. 5, 1959 until Nov. 12, 1960. He managed several Farmers Union Stations throughout North Dakota, until he started farming south of St. Anthony. During this time, he raised three children: two sons, Alleyn and Arron Ron and one daughter, Allayna. He then retired from farming and moved to Bismarck. Isidore went to work for Cenex, driving a fuel truck for several years. He managed a Cenex Convenience Store and then went to work for Super Valu, working in maintenance for 10 years.
Isidore enjoyed reading, history, prairie dog hunting, polka music and speaking and telling jokes in German. His most precious joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Isidore is survived by his sons, Alleyn (Bonnie) and Ron (Sue), Bismarck; his daughter, Allayna Ell (Brian Jensen), Bismarck; his brothers, Ted (Germaine), Bismarck, Tony (Delphia), Glen Ullin, and Martin (Audrey), Lewistown, Idaho; his sisters, Florence (Val) Himmelspach, Spokane, Wash., and Virginia (Rusty) Wilson, Dover, N.H.; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Glasser, Glen Ullin, and Evelyn Glasser, Mandan; his grandsons, Jason, Scott and Wyatt; his granddaughters, Samantha, Whitney and Alie; and his special friend, Jane Bosch, Bismarck, even though their time together was not long enough, he cherished her to the end.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, John, Adolph and Mike.
