Magdalena (Lena) Schatz Was born in St. Pladus, ND to Ralph and Margaret Glasser Baespflug December 1st, 1917, and went home to her Lord October 7th, 2012. She married Joseph P. Schatz on April 25th, 1939. They were married 65 years. She lived in their Milton home for 66 years. She was the eldest of eleven children. Frank, Joe, Martin, Mary, Pauline, Sally and Val preceded her in death. She is survived by Agnes, Betty and Delores. She leaves behind a devoted family, a daughter, Debbie (Steve) Hitchcock of Federal Way, and sons LeRoy (Patricia) Schatz of Elma, David Schatz of Milton, Gary (Mary Jo) Schatz of Tacoma, Richard (Annie) Schatz of Sarasota, FL, and the late Randy Schatz. She loved being a grandmother and leaves behind nine grandchildren, Chris, Terry, Ryan, Peter, Kelly, Anna, Austin, Joe and Sam, and three great-grandchildren. Lena lived an exemplary life of service as a mother, homemaker, and a devoted member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, where she served on the Altar Society. She loved her home, gardening, and visiting with family and neighbors. She had a kind and loving spirit and made friends everywhere she went. She was greatly loved and set a wonderful example of a life well-lived. Memorial service will be held Friday, October 12th, 2012 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 2303 54th Ave, Fife, WA. Recitation of the Rosary at 11:30am, followed by Mass at 12:00pm. Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery, Federal Way, WA. Lunch following in church hall.
