Charles J. "Chuck? Hinton, Jr.
Charles J. ?Chuck? Hinton, Jr. passed away December 3, 2009 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born June 22, 1930 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Rosaleen (Fullerton) Hinton, Sr.
Charles served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War in Panama. He worked for AT&T; where he was a service technician for 36 years, retiring in 1989. Charles was a member of the Knights of Columbus #319, 50 year member of the American Legion, where he was a past Commander and currently the Bell Jar Chairman, original bowler in the K of C Bowling League, a Troop Leader in the Boy Scouts, Troop #4 at St. John?s for 15 years, Little League and AnJo Baseball Coach, an usher at St. John?s for many years. Charles was an avid Bills, Sabres and Cleveland Indians? fan and enjoyed traveling and camping. He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes M. Donner Hinton, who passed away March 7, 2008.
Charles was the father of Michael (Cynthia) Hinton of Lockport, Gary (Ann) Hinton of Middleport, Barbara (David) Fischer of Pendleton, Patricia (Chip) Navarro of Lockport and Daniel (Carie) Hinton of Irmo, SC; grandfather of Erick Hinton, Marcie (Melvin) Pascual, Jennifer Navarro, Charles Hinton, Jacob Hinton, Corey Navarro, Aileen Hinton, Joseph Hinton, Addam Hinton, Morgan Hinton and Alex Fischer; ?GG? (great-grandfather) of Emelie Pascual and Angelise Pascual; brother of John (Sandra) Hinton of Lockport; and brother in-law of Harold Donner of Tonawanda; also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday 1-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where prayers will be offered Monday at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Entombment will be in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. Memorials to the National Kidney Foundation, 300 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14202 would be appreciated by the family.
