J. Edward Crock
Funeral services for J. Edward "Ed" Crock, 87, Mechanicsville, were held Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at St. Mary?s Catholic church, with the Rev. Andrew Kelly officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery, Mechanicsville. Mr. Crock died July 12 at Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a brief illness. The son of Peter C. and Anna C. Fisher Crock, he was born June 18, 1920 on the family farm in rural Mechanicsville. He graduated from Mechanicsville high school. He married Agnes Dusek in 1955. She died in 1993. He married Marie Larsen on Aug. 30, 1997 in Mechanicsville. Mr. Crock farmed most of his life. He became an adjuster for White Pigeon Insurance Co. and later obtained his license for selling property insurance through White Pigeon, retiring after 10 years in 1986. He was a lifelong active member of St. Mary?s Catholic church and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a past Lincoln school board member. Mr. Crock is survived by his wife; 4 children, John E., Moscow, Idaho; Marcia (Brad) Simpson, South Ogden, Utah; Carol (Dan) Werner, West Des Moines; and Tom (Jane), Charlotte, N.C.; 5 grandchildren, Carli, Brian, Brogan, Brett and Emily; and step-children and step-great-grandchildren.
