  The following article appeared in the Zanesville Signal on 11 Feb 1950: MAN KILLED WHEN AUTO HITS TRAIN Paul Ritterbeck, 22, of Canton, was killed last night and his brother, Clarence was critically injured when their automobile crashed into a freight train at Cumberland. The brothers were brought to Bethesda hospital in a Tom ambulance and the younger Ritterbeck was pronounced dead. Death was believed to have been due to a fractured skull. His brother sustained head injuries and possible internal injuries. Hospital attaches list his condition as critical. Both went to Caldwell yesterday to visit the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rome Lori, parents of the dead man?s wife. Surviving Ritterbeck are his widow, Virginia, his father Alfred of Summerfield. The body has been removed to the Estadt Funeral Home at Caldwell.
