BETTY JEAN WHITEHEAD SEDILLO
Betty Jean Whitehead Sedillo, age 56, of Mokane, MO, died on Monday, August 16, 2004 at the Riverview Nursing Center in Mokane where she had been a resident since March of 2003.
She was born December 21, 1947 in Keokuk, Iowa, a daughter of Clark and Velma Koontz Whitehead.
She had been married to Robert Watson and they were the parents of a son, Robert Brent.
She later remarried and her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother, Velma Whitehead, of Deming, NM; a son, Robert Brent Watson of Alexandria, VA; one brother, Robert Whitehead and his wife, Vivian, of Wyaconda, MO; two sisters, Barbara Whitehead of Dixon, IL and Bonnie R. Brewer and her husband, Eddie, of Kahoka, MO; an uncles, James Whitehead of Carmen, IL; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father and second husband.
Betty graduated from Deming High School in Deming, NM and attended McMurrary College in Abeline, TX. She loved working with children and her most rewarding job through the years was that of teacher?s aid.
Betty was of the Methodist faith. Her church life was extremely important to her and she was devoted to the works and activities of its ministry. She particularly loved working with small children and did volunteer work for many years. She always had a smile, a hug, and a kind word and those who knew her will remember as a giving and caring person.
Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wyaconda Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Beckmann officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the donor?s choice.
