Ena Mae Gustin, 90, 1918 Ave. D, died at 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan 4, 1997, at home of her son. She had been in failing health several years, serious the past two months.
She was born May 23 1906 at Kahoka, Mo., the daughter of Henry and Lillian Whitehead Saar. She married Harold R. "Shorty" Gustin, June 6, 1932, at Kahoka. He preceded her in death Oct 6, 1975. She had lived most of her life in Fort Madison. She was a clerk at the Sears Roebuck Company Catalog Office here in Fort Madison, retiring in 1968 after 25 years of service. She was a member of the St. John Church of Christ, Fort Madison.
She is survived by one son, Larry Robert Gustin, Nauvoo, Ill; one sister, Lida Link, Fort Madison; two grandsons; four great granddaughters; one great grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Friends may call after noon Monday, Jan 6, at Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, where the family will meet the friends from 9 to 10 a.m. and Tuesday morning before the funeral services. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the Chapel, with Rev. Gordon McMillian officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.
A memorial has been established for the Hancock County Blessing Hospice and contributions may be left at Barr Memorial Chapel
