Rose Lammers, 95, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on February 11, 2012 with her husband of 71 years at her side. She and her husband Art lived at Wheatland Memorial Healthcare Nursing Home in Harlowton, MT. Rose was born in Rose Creek, Minnesota on April 13, 1916 to John and Theresia Bettinger. Rose grew up southeast of Ryegate, Montana and attended Ryegate Schools until graduating in 1935. She worked at the Ryegate post office and soon met her husband Arthur. Rose married Arthur Lammers on February 24, 1941 and they lived on the family ranch at Hedgesville for her entire life. Rose enjoyed doing a variety of crafts, especially needle work and was a busy home maker. Each Christmas the grandchildren received homemade ornaments that are special memories to them. She was a 4-H and Girl Scout leader. Art and Rose enjoyed traveling together and took trips to Europe, New Zealand, Alaska, California, Minnesota and many other places. She enjoyed fishing and often would take her grandchildren with her. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish, St. Ann?s Guild, Altar Society and Garden Club. She loved life on the ranch, her family, and was friends to all that knew her. Rose was preceded in death by her parents John and Theresia, brother John, and sister Helen. Rose is survived in death by her husband Arthur Lammers, her five children, Arville (Elaine) of Shawmut, Leon (Margaret) of Judith Gap, Sharon (Jerry) of Shawmut, Shirley Lammers of Billings, and Larry (Robin) of Shawmut and brother Donald Bettinger of Spokane. She leaves behind ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family is grateful and forever indebted to the staff at Wheatland Memorial Healthcare for their excellent, professional care of Rose over the last few years. A vigil service will be Tuesday February 14, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the funeral service will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday February 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. followed by internment at the Harlowton Cemetery and a luncheon at the church basement. Memorials may be made to Wheatland Memorial Healthcare, St. Joseph Catholic Church or Montana Woolgrowers Association.
