McCARTHY, PAUL RICHARD, 92, of Louisville, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 8, 2011 at home on his farm. He was a dairy farmer who bred and exhibited three Kentucky State Fair and one National Grand Champion Jersey Cows. He was also a member of the Louisville Agriculture Club, the American Jersey Cattle Club, where he was a Former-Director, the Jefferson County Farm Bureau, where he was past president, for 29 years he was a supervisor for Jefferson County Soil Conservation, and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Paul was also a repeat honoree of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Outstanding Service Award. Paul was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Coalter; son, Michael Beumer; and brother, Jerome McCarthy. Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Ruth Nell (Glass) McCarthy; daughter, Kimla Beumer; son, Jeffery Beumer; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers, John McCarthy and Robert McCarthy. His funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church; 3705 Stone Lakes Drive, with cremation and burial to follow the next day in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Pearson Ratterman Brothers, 12900 Shelbyville Road. In lieu of flowers, please make expressions of sympathy to St. Michael Catholic Church.
