Joseph L. Gross, 87, Independence, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at The Groves nursing home in Independence.
Mr. Gross was born June 11, 1917, in Lima, Ohio. He was an Elder in the RLDS church (Restoration), pastoring in Michigan, Iowa and Colorado. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mayida Gross, wife of there one son, Allen Ray, who resides out of state.
His survivors include his wife, Alice; son, Allen; four grandchildren; two stepchildren; one sister, Dorothy Starr of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mount Moriah & Freeman Chapel, Kansas City. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the C.P.R. School of Independence and/or Missionary of Elders Conference.
