Paul Hill's obituary from the Zanesville Times Recorder -- pg 2 A -- 27 July 1968
Paul Urban Hill, 48, of Caldwell Route 1 was found
dead at 10 a.m. Friday (July 26) in a barn near his home by
members of his family. He had hanged himself with a rope in
the barn loft. Coroner Dr. Sherman Smith ruled the death a
suicide.
Born Jan 26 1920 in Fulda (Enoch Township) he was
a son of Beda and Rosa Brahler Hill of Caldwell. He was a farmer,
a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus in
Fulda, and was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his widow, Mary Hupp Hill; 12 children,
Donald, Karen, and Kathy of Dayton, and Margaret, Edith, Ronald,
Barbara, Dale, Joseph, Alan, Mark and Lora, all of the home; six
sisters, Mrs. Marie Dimmerling of Summerfield, Mrs. Alma Singer
and Mrs. Paul E. Dimmerling and Mrs. Mildred Lori, all of Caldwell,
Mrs. Delores Hohman and Mrs. Rita Kuhn, both of Louisville, two
brothers, Joseph and Herman, both of Columbus. A sister is
deceased.
The body was taken to Estadt Funeral Home in Caldwell
where friends may call. Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary
at 2 p.m. Sunday. St. Mary's Parish will have the rosary at 8 p.m.
Sunday. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's
Church with Rev., Fr. J. J. Donaldson officiating. Burial will be in
the church cemetery.
