English, 83, of Graysville, died Monday (Feb. 5, 2001) at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W.Va. He was born Jan. 3, 1918, in Rinard Mills, son of the late Clark E. and Minnie Marie (Burkhart) English. Mr. English retired from United States Postal Service, where he served for 33 years. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ, where he had served as an Elder for many years. He was a U.S. veteran of World War II. He was a charter member of Graysville Volunteer Fire Department. He served on Graysville Village Council for many years. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Gene English; two brothers, Kenneth and Donald English. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Betty (Gray) English of Graysville; three sons, Clark Edmund "Ed" (Shirlyn) English of Beallsville, Garry (Linda) English of Woodsfield and Bruce English of Graysville; two daughters, Phyllis Hibinger of Caldwell and Janice Christman of Marietta; a brother, John English of Kentucky; four sisters, Lois Griffin and Mary Annette Cline, both of Woodsfield, Amanda English of Rinard Mills and Marilyn Elias of Canton; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services will be 1 p.m. Thursday with ministers John Hamilton and Harold B.
