Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. He was a native of Stamford, Conn., and a retired employee of the Shively Sanitation Department. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Rockford Lane Baptist Church. Survivors: his wife, the former Delma Silliman; three stepdaughters, Ruth Cook of St. Francis and Geneva J. Brooks of Sonora and June Ireland; two stepsons, Alger Bowen of Harrodsburg and Lonnie Bowen of Pewee Valley; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday, Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
