Schott, age 84 of Canton, passed away September 2, 2000 in Laurels of Massillon following a short illness. He was born May 25, 1916 in Fulda, OH. the son of the late William B. Schott and Louvina (Schafer) Schott. He had lived most of his life in Canton, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He retired from LTV Steel after 38 years of service. Preceded in death by his wife, Pearl M. (Crock) Schott to whom he had been married 52 years; two brothers, Herman and James Schott; a sister, Wilma Paulus; son-in-law, Dennis Burk. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Burk of Canton and Diane and James Evans of Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and June Schott of Canton, Dean and Sandy Schott of Glenview, IL.; nine grandchildren, eight grandchildren; three sisters, Louella Heppner of Louisville, Rita Minyo of Columbus, Jean Hickman of Newark; two brothers, Ellis Schott of Pleasanton, CA., Vernon Schott of Bolivar. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday September 6, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Sommer, MSC as celebrant. Calling hours will be Tuesday 6-9 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave., Burial in Calvary Cemetery. He was a kind and gentle man who loved children, gardening and woodworking. He will deeply missed by all who loved him.
