Frank A. Smith, prominent business man died at the home on West
North street Friday morning. Her death followed a two-weeks' illness
of double pneumonia. Mrs. Smith was a well known and prominent resident of Caldwell.
She was the daughter of G. C. and Eva Hohman Ehlermann and spent
her early life in the Fulda community where she was born. She was a
member of St. Philomena Catholic church. Surviving are her husband, five children, Norbert of the home, Miss
Beatrice Smith, of Newark, Mrs. Frank Estadt, of Caldwell, Miss Elinore
Smith, local business woman and Julius Smith, student in Columbus,
five brothers and two sisters, T. M. Ehlerman, Caldwell, Julius Ehler-
mann, Barnesville, Adolph Ehlermann, Newark, William E Ehlermann,
Sioux City, Iowa, Ernest Ehlermann, Enid, Oklahoma, Mrs. William
Arnold, Caldwell and Miss Ceila Ehlermann of the home. Funeral services will be held at St. Philomena church Monday mor-
ning at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery at Olive.

F. A. Smith, owner of the Caldwell Implement and Supply company,
died at the family home on West North street this morning at 9:10
o'clock, following a short illness of pneumonia. She was one of Caldwell's best loved and most highly respected
residents and was a member of St. Philomena Catholic church. Her
death on Christmas Day cast a gloom over the entire community. She was born near Gulda, the daughter of the late G. C. Ehlerman
and Eva Hohman Ehlerman and lived many years after her marriage
to Mr. Smith in that community. Ten years ago the family moved to
Caldwell. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Norbert of the home and
Julius of Columbus, three daughters, Miss Beatrice Smith of Newark,
Mrs. Adelia estate, wife of Frank Estadt of Caldwell; and Miss Eleanore
of the home, Two brothers, Fred and Chris Ehlerman, are deceased.
The surviving brothers and sisters are: T. M. Ehlerman, Caldwell; Julius
Ehlerman, Barnesville; Adolph Ehlerman, Newark; William Ehlerman,
Enid, Okla.; Mrs. William Arnold, Caldwell and Miss Celia Ehlerman of
Caldwell. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock from the
St. Philomena church with Rev. Fr. Mark Campbell conducting solemn
High Mass. Interment will be in Olive cemetery in charge of the Estadt
Funeral home.
