HUPP Paul Urban Hupp. On August, 30, 2010, our Lord called home our beloved husband, father, uncle, friend. Paul Urban Hupp, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He touched the hearts and souls of all who knew him. He was born March 30, 1918 in a German community in Fulda, Ohio, the son of the late Conrad and Mary Bettinger Hupp. During his work life he was a proud and extremely competent welder, millwright, and black smith. He worked for 25 years at Mosaic tile in Zanesville, Ohio and retired from Rockwell International in Marysville, Ohio after more than ten years. His retirement years were devoted to his wife and his extensive family and friends. Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years, Madeline; his sons, Danny (Cindy) Hupp of Pittsburgh, PA and David (Debbie) Hupp of Heath, Ohio; and his daughter, Susan (Bob) Young of Pataskala, Ohio; loving grandfather of Don (Melissa) Hupp, Cathy (Mike) Brooks, Kristin (Jon) Couser, Randee (Gus) Hutras, Jeff Hupp, Jamey (Sharon) Hupp, Heather (Mike Rannebarger) Young, Stephanie Young; 15 great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Elizabeth Bunting and Sylvia Burkhart and great-grandson Aleksandr. Paul loved life, treasured his German background, and thoroughly enjoyed the many holidays and special occasions with family and friends. Paul was known for his outstanding skill in his chosen trades of welding and blacksmithing. Those who knew him well also were amazed that he never stopped learning by teaching himself to read and write German after he turned 75. He had many friends and neighbors who looked forward to vigorous discussions of politics and current events. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville. At 7 p.m. Wednesday, friends and family will hold a Memorial to Paul's life. A mass will be held September 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Westerville. Graveside service will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Zanesville, Ohio at a later date.
