Karen Burkhart Jordon's obituary appeared in the Canton Repository on May 28, 2005
Karen D. Jordon, 55, of Rittman, died Thursday, May 26, 2005 at her home. She was born on May 12, 1950, in Wadsworth to John F. and Bernadine (Crum) Burkhart and was a life resident of Rittman.
She graduated from Rittman High School in 1968 and attended the University of Akron. Karen worked at ComDoc in Green, Ohio for over 20 years. She was an intricate part of all aspects of the company. Numerous awards of gratitude, sales over $1 Million, and President Club trips were given to Karen during those years. Her leadership and mentoring of countless individuals will be a legacy that will last for years to come. She helped implement and design countless processes and plans that helped lead ComDoc to where it is today.
She was a wonderful friend and her loyalty to those she was close to could not be compared. She was a member of Wadsworth Eagles #2117 Auxiliary and served as their secretary for 9 years. She enjoyed working in the kitchen, raffles, and football. Karen had a special gift for giving. At Christmas she loved to shop for the 150-plus kids who attended the Eagles Club Christmas party. If she ever caught wind of someone's need, she would take care of it; even doing so anonymously. She loved to help her ComDoc partners succeed in their jobs and business. She gave of her heart, wisdom, time and finances to help her family through good times and bad.
She was loved by her father, John Burkhart and his special friend, Janie Massie, of Rittman; brothers, Dave (Lori) Burkhart of Rittman, and Darrell Burkhart of Lansdale, PA; son, SSGT Steven (Donny) Cotton, serving with the U. S. Army in Germany; daughter, Tracy (Bill) Goebel of Massillon; and nine precious grandchildren whom she treasured, Garret, Nickilas, Camry, Justin, Seth, Erica, Eliza, Evan and Evianna.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernadine Burkhart; sister, Carol Bozsik; and grandson, Trenton Cotton.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, 211 N. Metzger Ave., Rittman, with Pastor Rory Wineka officiating. Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 P.M. on Sunday at Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
