Birth: unknown
Death: Dec. 7, 2012
Donald H. Crum passed away at the age of 90 on December 7, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ova; sisters, Bernie and Arlene; brother, Clarence; and brother-in-law and friend, John Cristman. Don is survived by his wife of 36 years, Bonnie; sons, Donald R. (MaryAnn) and Michael Wood; daughters, Darla Earnest, Marcia (Robert) Fidelholtz, and Beth Wood; niece, Donna (Harry) Kinser; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Ken Enlow; and beloved dogs, Gracie and Heidi.
Don worked at Goodyear Aircraft for 20 years and retired from his insurance agency, Don Crum Insurance (now Crum-Enlow Insurance). Don was a member of the Model A Restorers Club for 50 years and served as Technical Advisor, Master Judge, and National Director, and also was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, where he served as Treasurer and Superintendent of Sunday school. He served as assistant Boy Scout Master of Goodyear Troop #59 and was a member of the Tallmadge Outing Club. Don was proud of his service in the United States Army during World War II.
Don was known in the area for his fabulous garden and delicious tomatoes that he proudly delivered to friends and family - summers will never be the same. He enjoyed playing the lottery, waiting for Publishers Clearing House to show up at the door, and gambling at Mountianeer with friends and family. We enjoyed the delicious fried perch he caught in Canada and Lake Erie. He was a much loved man, husband, and father who will be dearly missed.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jeff Bachtel and Dr. William Bauman for their many years of excellent care.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at the DONOVAN FUNERAL HOME, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle), with Pastor David Harwell officiating. Entombment will be at Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association , P.O. Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693.
