Jean Allinder, 83, of Cross Lanes passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at CAMC.
She was the daughter of the late H.E. and Minnie Crowder of Chelyan.
She was a member of Kanawha City Church of Christ and a volunteer for the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary, Meals-on-Wheels, the Ronald McDonald House and the pantry for Covenant House at First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Westbrook Garden Club and the Kanawha Valley Antique Car Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Allinder, in 1987; a daughter, Barbara Allinder Woodrum, in 1996; and two brothers, Charles Crowder of Chesapeake and Carroll Crowder of Florida; as well as many dear friends.
Jean is survived by her son and his wife, Thomas and Yvonne Allinder; grandson, Scott of Biloxi, Miss.; granddaughter Angela Allinder Medlock and her husband, Robert, great-grandson, Charles Robert, and great-granddaughter, Anna Morgan, of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and grandsons, Christopher Woodrum of Fayetteville, W.Va., and Andy Woodrum of New York City.
A service to honor the life of Jean Allinder will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at Snodgrass Funeral Home with Minister Steve Fox and Elder Joe Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Family and friends will visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kanawha City Church of Christ, 5101 Chesterfield Ave., Charleston, WV 25304, or to a charity of your choice.
Snodgrass Funeral Home, MacCorkle Avenue, South Charleston, is handling the arrangements.
