SHAFFER -- Mrs. Allegra R., 86, Windber, died March 3, 2000, at Regional Hospice at Windber. Born April 7, 1913, in Scalp Level, daughter of late Norman and Matilda (Holsinger) Weaver. Also preceded in death by brothers, David, Warden, Willard, Norman and Clyde; and sisters, Margaret Lehman and Emma Sager. Survived by husband of 68 years, Dean G., and these children: David, married to former Patricia Durst, and Janet (Codick), wife of Richard Wissinger, both of Windber; and Norman I., married to former Carol Moore, Taylors, S.C.; also six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Florence, widow of Willard, Ohio, and Edna Ruth, widow of Clyde, Johnstown. Member of Rummel Church of the Brethren and Friendship Sunday school class. Former employee of hospitality shop at Windber Medical Center and Valley Dairy. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Meek Funeral Home Inc., Windber. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Rummel Church of the Brethren, the Rev. Ken Gresh, pastor, officiating. Interment, Berkey Cemetery. Those who wish may make contributions to Regional Hospice at Windber in memory of Mrs. Shaffer.
