Elizabeth (Betty) Leingang, 74, Mandan, died on February 9, 2004 in a Bismarck Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 A.M, on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in the Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation:
Friday, 1pm-9pm at Weigel Funeral Home
Friday, 7pm, Parish Rosary/Vigil at Weigel Funeral Home
Saturday, Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to services at St. Joseph Catholic Church
Elizabeth was born on January 8, 1930 in Huff, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Philip and Katherine (Heck) Neibauer. She was raised in Huff, ND attending school in Flasher. She graduated from Flasher High School in 1949.
In 1950, Elizabeth married Simon J. Leingang in Fallon, ND. The couple then moved west of St. Anthony, ND working at the family farm, later moving to the Wetzstein Ranch. In 1958 they moved to Mandan and have lived there ever since.
Elizabeth enjoyed watching soap operas and spending time with her family. She was an avid baker early in her family life and is remembered as always wearing her apron. Her greatest pride was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very giving and caring person. Someone you could always count on to be there.
Elizabeth is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Roger Leingang, and Frank and Debbi Leingang, one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Curtiss Kovash, all of Mandan; eight grandchildren, Frank Leingang, Jr. and fiancé Stacey Barnick, Gregory Leingang, Christopher Leingang, Amanda Leingang, and Mandi Leingang, Curtiss Kovash, Jr. and fiancé Mandi_Hoffert, Melissa and Sarah Kovash all of Mandan; one brother-in-law, Celes Volk, Mandan; one sister, Maggie Morton, Portland, OR; and two sisters-in-law, Frances Neibauer, Portland, OR, and Philomena Boehm of Bismarck.
She is preceded in death her parents, her spouse, Simon, who died November 29, 2001, and four brothers Philip, Jr., Adam , John Paul , and Fran
