William Budds

William J. ?Bill? Budds, 91, of Pana died Sunday, October 4, 2009 in Pana Community Hospital.
He was born August 31, 1918 in Pana, the son of Warren L. and Carmen A. Posteher Budds. A graduate of Pana Township High School, he lived in Pana his entire life except when he was in the service. Bill served in the U. S. Army in the 101st Airborne. He received the Purple Heart after being wounded at Carenian, France in 1944.
Bill worked at the Pana Refinery until it closed. He then worked at Essex until he retired. He enjoyed going to all the Pana Sporting events and was honored with a life time pass for all the Pana High School Sporting events. He loved all sports especially the Cubs and the Illini. He was statistician on all sports. He was an avid reader.
He is survived by his Niece: Jeanette Russell, Robinson, IL; nephews: Chuck Beeson, Pana, IL and Jim Budds, Pekin, IL; and by several great nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Maxine Beeson and Jeanette Budds; and by his brother Warren Fritz Budds.
Funeral Information
Funeral mass will be Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in St. Patrick?s Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William F. Kessler officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:30 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home.
