Jeanne Ellen Budds, 57, of Pana, died Monday in her home. She was born April 26, 1952 in Pana, where she lived her entire life. Jeanne had the ability to light up the room, and was always smiling & happy. She loved to bowl and was on a bowling league for the handicapped in Pana & Taylorville. Jeanne enjoyed going to football games in St. Louis with her brother, which they did for many years. She made hook-latch rugs & wall hangings, which she gave as gifts to many people.
She especially enjoyed her work at the Christian County Mental Health Workshops, where she had worked for over 36 years, & she considered them to be a part of her family. She was a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church, Pana, and loved her church. She missed very few Sundays, and took great joy in welcoming people to services as she handed out bulletins. Jeanne was also a good friend of the First Baptist Church, Pana.
Surviving are her brothers: David Budds, Pana & Dr. Michael Budds, Colombia, MO; & good friend, Janet Hicks, Pana. She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Budds on January 3, 1969 & mother, Helen Kramer Budds on February 2, 2002. Memorials: Christian County Mental Health Foundation, Taylorville or Carnegie-Schuyler Library, Pana.
Funeral service: Thursday, January 21 in First United Methodist Church, Pana at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Marilyn Rauch officiating and burial in Rosamond Grove Cemetery.
