CHRISTMAN, Jack W., 76, of 46881 Robin Road, Woodsfield, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 4, 2004 in the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.
He was born at Woodsfield, Ohio on July 28, 1928, a son of the late Ronald "Dick" and Irene Withers Christman.
He was a retired employee of the former Conalco Corp, Hannibal, Ohio; a US Army veteran serving in Germany during the Korean War; a member and past commander and trustee at the VFW Post 5303, Woodsfield, Ohio; a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Woodsfield, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Woodsfield, Ohio and a former member of the Monroe County Sportsmen's Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Dr. Ronald Christman and Burris Christman.
Surviving are a son, Scott Christman and his wife, Melissa of Woodsfield, Ohio; a daughter, Saundra Sofia of Moundsville, W.Va.; three sisters, Lorna Good and her husband, Harold W. "Red" of Woodsfield, Ohio, Doris Smith of Woodsfield, Ohio and Zola Slawter of Akron, Ohio; two brothers, Ray Christman and his wife Nina of Alabama, Sam Christman and his wife Nina of Woodsfield, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jacklynn Christman and Jacob Christman; several nieces and nephews and his black lab, Sauny.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2005 where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2005 with Rev. Roger Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio with full military graveside services by the Belmont Veterans Council.
