Norbert ?Red? Kuntz age 82 of Jasper died at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday (August
12, 2003) in the St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.
WWII Army Veteran served in the 375 Quartermaster Truck Company. He
received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon and the
Bronze Star.
He retired as an over the road truck driver for Briggs Transportation Freight
Lines after 40 years as a truck driver beginning with Jasper Chicago Motor
Express, Indianapolis and Southern Motor express.
He was very active in the Jasper Little League Base Ball Program.
Memberships; Precious Blood Catholic Church -V.F.W. Post # 673 -
American Legion Post # 147 - Jasper Moose Lodge where he was a member
for 40 years and held various office posts - Jasper Outdoor Recreation
Association - Dubois County Saddle Club.
He was born at Troy, Indiana on August 13, 1920. Parents; August and
Olivia (Conen) Kuntz. Married to Hilda Mutchman on September 14, 1946.
Surviving are his wife Hilda.
1 son; Michael A. Kuntz, Holland, IN
1 granddaughter; Abby L. Kuntz, 2 step grandchildren and 1 step great
Grandchild.
1 sister; Beatrice Lemmons, Fort Branch, IN
Preceding him in death are 1 son; Richard Kuntz. 2 brothers; Walter and
Edward Kuntz.
Funeral services for Norbert O. Kuntz will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday
(August 15, 2003) in Precious Blood Catholic Church with burial to follow
in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct
Military Grave Side Rites.
Friends may call from 11 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher - Kluesner
Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church or
to the Loyal Order of the Moose Building Fund.
Memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday by members of the Jasper Moose
Club.
