  [S927] Obituary. Memorial service for Edna Guthmiller, 82, Aberdeen will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 27 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Henschen officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Edna died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the ManorCare Health Services. Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St. is in charge of arrangements. Edna Brandner was born on May 20, 1931 at Zeeland, ND to Christ and Theresa (Just) Brandner. This is the area where she grew up and attended school. The family later moved to Hillsview, SD. On October 23, 1949 she married Otto Guthmiller at Hosmer, SD. They owned and operated Otto's Café in Hillsview and later moved to Igloo. In 1955 they moved to Aberdeen where she was a cook at Surfwood Night Club, The Flame and Dutch's. She then worked for DeForrest Starlite and in 1978 started at St. Luke's Hospital where she was a cook until she retired in 2001. Otto died on July 17, 1997 in Aberdeen. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Aberdeen. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, shopping and shopping. When she bought something for one of her children she bought something for all. Grateful for having shared Edna's life are her children, Kathy (Terry) McKay, Golden Valley, ND, Doug (Wendy) Guthmiller, Aberdeen and Dwight Guthmiller, Warner, grandchildren, Dulcie (Kelly), Ed (Jana), Shannon (Chantel), Chad (Lisa), Cassandra (Matt) and Nick, great grandchildren, Courtney (Wade), Charmayne, Dakota, Justin, Lauri, Jordan, Daviney, Khoen, Reagan, Mason and Lydia, great-great grandchildren, Ryanne, Ambrosia, Bethany, Ericka and Morgan.
