DALTON -- Herman H. "Bud" Hummel, 77, of Dalton, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton, after a period of declining health.
Services will be Monday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton with Rev. Mark Steiner officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Mount Eaton.

Herman was born Jan. 1, 1930, in Navarre to the late Harry and Lillian (Templin) Hummel and had lived most of his life near Mount Eaton.
He was a retired farmer and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the former St. Paul United Church of Christ in Mount Eaton and the former Paint Township Grange.
Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie (Jeff) Borgelt of Perrysburg; a son, Douglas (Linda) Hummel of Dalton; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Evelyn Meron of Tampa, Fla.; and a brother, Al (Peni) Hummel of Massillon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Hoelzer) Hummel in 1994; a brother, Robert Hummel; and two sisters, Leona Barclay and Martha Begue.
