August 21, 2007 12:00 am • The Bismarck Tribune(0) Signatures Thomas Knoll Thomas "Tom" Knoll, 89, Mandan, died Aug. 19, 2007, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, from an aneurysm. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Kenneth Phillips as celebrant. Interment will follow services in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 p.m. and a St. Anthony Verein Rosary at 7:30 p.m. There will be no visitation at the church Wednesday. Thomas "Tom" Knoll was born Oct. 6, 1917, in St. Anthony, the son of Henry and Anna (Wetsch) Knoll. He entered into marriage with Irene Bruggemann Feb. 5, 1941, and the two farmed and ranched south of Mandan. Tommy's family was his highlight in life and he spent as much time as he could with all of them. Tom will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Irene, Mandan; six daughters and one son-in-law, Vivian Johner, Elizabeth, Colo., Gloria Bernardy, Omaha, Neb., Wanda (Larry) Heinert, Papillion, Neb., and Renee Welle, Janel Leingang and Nadine Knoll, all of Bismarck; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney (LaVerne), Mandan, and Keith (Deb), Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Pauline Cermak and Theresa Leingang, both of Mandan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Al Knoll, Rockford, Ill., Mike (Helen), Mandan, Tony (Martha), Fargo, and Stephina Knoll, Bismarck; 23 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Wayne; one sister and three brothers-in-law, Rose (Jack) Leingang, Tony Cermak and Hyacinth Leingang; and four brothers and two sisters-in-law, George (Rose), Phil, Paul (Veronica), Martin and Joseph.
