  [S927] Obituary. Francis Peter Ferstler, 83, of Apex died at his home on Friday, February 18, 2011. Mr. Ferstler was born in Queens, NY on October 13, 1927 to Francis J. Ferstler and Gertrude Ferstler. He served his country honorably during WWII in the U S Navy on the USS Leary. Mr. Ferstler was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Mr. Ferstler is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years: Dorothy Rasmussen Ferstler; his children: Donald Ferstler, Dennis Ferstler and wife Julie, Deborah Berte' and husband Stephen Jr, and David Ferstler and wife Lisa; grandchildren: Donald Ferstler II and wife Elizabeth, Michael Ferstler, Francis Ferstler, Matthew Ferstler, Kathryn Ferstler, Thomas Ferstler, Nicole Lourenco and husband Alan, Stephen III and wife Kristina, David Jr. Christian and Justin; great grandchildren: Donald Ferstler, Logan Ferstler, Hayden, Ashley, Aidan, Mia and Stephen IV. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex. A funeral service will be on Monday February 21, 2011 beginning at 10 am in the chapel of Apex Funeral Home.
