DEAKIN, Estella Virginia Eckard, 92, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Sunday, July 25, 2010 in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling.
She was born December 14, 1917 in Wheeling.
Mrs. Deakin retired with 22 years of service from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Corporate Offices, Wheeling; and was a member of Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church.
She was a 50 year member of both the Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and a member of Daughters of the Nile.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Nelson Deakin Jr. in 2006.
Surviving are a daughter, Arlene L. Helms and her husband Donald of Dandridge, Tenn.; a grandchild, Charles Nelson Helms of Dandridge; and a niece, Linda Jane Eckard Grossman of New York City.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Kepner Funeral Home, National Road at Bethany Pike, Wheeling, 304-232-2732, with the Reverend Chuck Laplaca officiating.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
