Francesca V. Frances Haag, 85, Dickinson, died Monday, June 14, at St. Benedicts Health Center, Dickinson. Francescas Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 18, at St. Patricks Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Father Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Francesca Viola Haag was born on Oct. 28, 1924, to Leonard and Annie (Martian) Haag, oldest daughter of seven children, on the family farm located in Dunn County. She was baptized at St. Philips Catholic Church in Hirschville. She lived on the family farm helping her parents and attended elementary school in the Iota No. 1 School District. Francesca loved the farm and gardening with the family, visits from aunts and uncles and cousins and always enjoyed the frequent fishing trips to Lake Ilo in Dunn Center. She loved doing puzzles and playing checkers with her nephews and nieces. In 1962, she moved to Dickinson with her parents and remained living there until she entered St. Benedicts Health Center in 1986.
Frances is survived by her five sisters: Jane (Tony) Schneider, Zillah, Wash.; Florence Dauenhauer, Zillah, Wash.; Irene (Bradley) Ravellette, Oaktown, Ind.; Cecilia (Mick) Manns, Fairbanks, Alaska; and Carol (Elden) Miller, Williston; eight nephews and six nieces and numerous cousins. Preceding her in death are her parents Leonard and Annie Haag, and one brother Mathias Max Haag. In lieu of flowers, memorials the family requests that donations be made to St. Benedicts Health Center Memorial Fund.
