Rose L. Decker was born September 25, 1909 to Christian and Anna Mary (Hecker) Decker on the family farm near Schefield, ND. She grew up and attended the local country grade school. On June 11, 1928, Rose married Anton L Wolfe at St. Pius Church in Schefield. The couple made their home on a farm south of Gladstone for a year before settling in Dickinson. In 1945 they moved to Washington and operated a service station. They returned to the Dickinson area in 1947 and purchased a farm north of town that they operated until 1958 when they moved into Dickinson. After Tony passed away in 1980, Rose met and later married Peter Laches at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple made their home in Dickinson for the next 20 years. Rose continued to live in Dickinson and was blessed to live at her home until 2008, thanks to the help she received from Linda Decker, Evelyn Herold & Easter Seals.
Rose was a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church as well as St. Pius Verein and St. Anthony club. She was a very good cook and especially enjoyed making her German specialties, but she was passionate about her sewing. Rose wished for nothing more then to be able to sew and it showed, as she continued to sew, even into her 90?s.
She is survived by her son Terrance Wolfe of Dickinson; daughter, Renee (David) Paasch of Dickinson; five stepchildren, Mabel (Don) Walter of Dickinson; Irene (Mike) Messer of Regent, ND; Mary Beth (Bill) Powell of Mott, ND; Jeanette (Jim) Sullivan of Mott, ND; Eddy Laches of Mott, ND; four brothers, Frank Decker of WA; Peter Decker of Dickinson; Floyd Decker of Spokane, WA; Ben Decker of Yuma, AZ; two sisters, Theresa (Bud) McCay of Spokane, WA; Elizabeth (Mike) Donahue of Spokane, WA; two brothers-in-law Jack Wolfe of WA; Kasper Laches of Mott; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Decker of Belfield, ND; Caroline Wolfe of Dickinson;
Rose was preceded by both of her husbands; three brothers, Adam, Ted, and Pius Decker; two sisters Beatrice Krank and Katherine Dauenhauer; four brothers-in-law, Frank Wolfe, John Wolfe, Joseph Wolfe, Mike Wanner Jr.; three sisters-in-law Frances Muth, Anna Metz Fox, and Sally Metz.
