Burdette McBride, 86, died November 28, 2005 at her Parkersburg residence. Mrs. McBride was born August 19, 1919 at Parkersburg, a daughter of the late William and Hattie Lemon Burdette. She was a member of Parkersburg Chapter 14, Order of Eastern Star and St. Andrews United Methodist Church, where she had been active in the Women's Circle. She began her working career in the alterations department at Dils Department Store, and retired after many years there as the personnel director. Mrs. McBride is survived by her son, Robert E. McBride, MD of Valparaiso, Ind. and by seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. McBride in 1981 and by one son, Dr. J. William McBride; one sister, Marie Higgins and one brother John Burdette. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2005 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg with Reverend Donald Maxson officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Memorials may be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1210 20th St., Parkersburg, WV 26101.
