A Celebration of Life memorial service for William "Tram" Charles Bertram, 55, of Heron Bay, Thornville and recently of Worthington, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Linworth United Methodist Church, 7070 Bent Tree Blvd., Worthington.
He was born on March 23, 1950 in Morgantown, W.Va. and was the son of the late William J. Bertram and survived by his mother, Lauretta Schaffer Bertram of Pawleys Island, S.C. Mr. Bertram passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Audrey Wilkins Bertram, whom he married on Aug. 7, 1971; son, Ryan and daughter, Kathryn, both of Columbus; sisters, Nancy (Bob) Radon, Susan (Al) Arentsen; niece Amy (Jim) Stritt; nephews, Mark Cunningham, Rob Radon and Bill (Susan) Radon; great niece, Paige and nephews, Kyle and Drew.
Tram was raised in Morgantown, W.Va. and graduated from West Virginia University in 1972 and W.V.U. Law School in 1975. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Social Fraternity and Wesley Methodist Church.
Tram was Senior Vice President and Manager of the Columbus Office of Aon Consulting. During his 22 years with Aon, he built the office into a leader in Human Resources and Employee Benefits Consulting.
He was widely known in his profession and held numerous leadership positions devoted to the Employee Benefits Industry. He was committed to his clients and the many talented individuals that he attracted to the firm.
Beyond Columbus, Tram was widely recognized and appreciated throughout Aon for his leadership capabilities based on the highest of integrity.
He was a member of Linworth United Methodist Church and Worthington Hills Country Club, upon which he served on the Board. Tram also was a resident of Worthington Hills for 25 years, active in the community and served as the 1990 Parade Chairman.
The game of golf was a love of Tram's from an early age. Raised as a W.Va. Mountaineer fan, his passion remained strong throughout his life. Most recently he loved to go boating on Buckeye Lake.
Tram was first and foremost a family man, devoted husband and father, who will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends one hour prior and one hour after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to the Lymphoma Research Foundation of America, 111 Broadway, NY, NY 10006 or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 2225 Citygate Dr., Columbus, 43219.
