Hayes, Mary Eva Hayes nee Christman

Mary Eva Hayes, 94, of Quaker City, Ohio died March 12, 2010 at the Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge, Ohio.
She was born February 29, 1916 near Calais, Ohio a daughter of the late John and Clara Ackerman Christman.
Mary was a homemaker; loved to quilt and garden; was a member of the former Seneca Valley Church of Christ near Calais, Ohio and was a 1934 graduate of Calais High School.
Surviving are two daughters: Marjorie (John) Ryan of Searcy, Arkansas and Brenda (Pimm) Hiller of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two sons: Carl (Carol) Hayes of Quaker City, Ohio and Tim (JoEllen) Hayes of Cambridge, Ohio; two sisters: Cleo Carpenter of Lewisville, Ohio and Helen Starr of Gahanna, Ohio; two sisters-in-law: Edna Truax of Caldwell, Ohio and Margaret Christman of Quaker City, Ohio; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Grant Hayes on March 30, 1997 whom she married November 11, 1937; a sister, Esta Burkhart; four brothers, Gilbert, Lee, Howard, Herbert Christman; an infant brother, Lester Vearl Christman; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 with John Ryan officiating.
Burial will follow in the Calais Cemetery, Calais, Ohio
