QUAKER CITY - Lee H. Christman, 91, of 52173 Ohio 379, Calais community, Quaker City, died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday (July 22, 2003) at Barnesville Hospital in Barnesville.
He was born March 19, 1912, in Calais to John W. and Clara Ackerman Christman. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Seneca Valley Church of Christ at Calais. He enjoyed doing needlepoint pictures as a hobby.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Earley Christman, whom he married on May 19, 1934; three sons, Dale Christman and his wife, Joan, of Lewisville, Ralph Christman and his wife, Karen, of St. Joseph, Mich., and Roger Christman and his wife, Janet, of Baltimore, Ohio; two brothers, Howard Christman of Lewisville and Herbert Christman of Summerfield; three sisters, Helen Starr of Gahanna, Mary Hayes of Quaker City and Cleo Carpenter of Lewisville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gilbert and Lester Christman; one sister, Esta Burkhart; and one daughter in infancy.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Watters Funeral Home in Woodsfield with Frank Love officiating. Burial is in Calais Cemetery in Calais. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
