Gilbert A. Christman, 93, of 37758 SR 800, Sardis, Ohio, died May 13, 1998, at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Monroe County Ohio, December 12, 1904, a son of the late John W. and Clara
Ackerman Christman.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Unity Baptist Church, Sardis.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Lester and Linda Christman of Sardis, Harry Dean and b also of Sardis; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Ann Knowlton Ridgeway and Gerald Ridgeway of Sardis, Mary Katherine and David McIntire of Clarington, Ohio; three brothers, Howard Christman of Lewisville, Ohio, Herbert Christman of Summerfield, Ohio, Lee Christman of Quaker City, Ohio; three sisters, Helen Starr of Summerfield, Mary Hayes of Quaker City, Cleo Carpenter of Lewisville; 11 grandchildren, Pamela Cockran, Michael Christman, James A. Knowlton, Rebecca Ann Tinker, Matthew Christman, Angela Christman, Mark Christman, Tawnya Boyd, Clyde W. McIntire; a great- grandson, Justin
Mitchel Boyd.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theadora Mellott Christman, in September 1980; an infant son, Dwight; a granddaughter, Sandra Lea; a sister, Esta Burkhart.
Friends were received May 15 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services were held May 16, with Reverend Claye Folger officiating. Interment in the Unity Cemetery, near Antioch, Ohio.
