Lindberg will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Madonna Towers Chapel in Rochester, with the Rev. Donald F. Connelly officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Lindberg, 93, of Rochester, died Sunday (May 13, 2007) at Madonna Towers Health Care. Born Jan. 27, 1914, in Rochester, he grew up in Rochester. Following school, he served in the Army from 1941 to 1945 and was stationed in the southwest Pacific during World War II. He returned to Rochester, and on Dec. 31, 1945, married Geneieve M. Brumm at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, Iowa. For 45 years, he worked in the business department at Saint Marys Hospital, retiring in 1979. His wife was also a Saint Marys Hospital employee; she preceded him in death on Dec. 2, 1994. Mr. Lindberg was a member of American Legion Post 92, Rochester Senior Citizens, Saint Marys Retirement Club, Elks Lodge, St. Pius X Catholic Church, and was a lifelong member of Knights of Columbus. Survivors include a son, Joseph H. of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Mary K. (Ripley) Peterson of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Ann M. Lindberg of Memphis; and two grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, and an hour before the service Friday in the chapel.
