Ronald O. Barcus, 60 Father of Tonia L. Paxson of Bluffton, Ronald O. Barcus, 60, of rural Portland, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne following a stroke at his home. Mr. Barcus was the owner and operator of the Barcus Small Engine business firm. He was a 1960 graduate of Poling High School and a member of Union Chapel Church in rural Bryant. He was born in Van Wert, Ohio, Aug. 12, 1942, a son of Floyd and Leota Stemen Barcus. His marriage on May 23, 1988 was to Donna Holbrook, who survives. His mother also survives and resides in rural Bryant. Additional survivors are two sons, Brian L. of Spencerville and Tony L. of Kendallville; a stepson, Charles Holbrook of Logan, Ohio; a brother, Kenley O. of Pennville; a sister, Mrs. Max (Charlene) Blowers of rural Bryant; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A twin brother, Donald, and a daughter, Barbara L. Barcus, are deceased. Services will be at 11 am. Saturday in the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Sutton and Pastor H.R. Burkett officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery at Pennville. Calling hours at the Pennville Chapel are today from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorials to the Union Chapel Church, rural Bryant.
