Edna Ann Cooke, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away October 17, 2007 at the Forum Health Care Center. She was born August 31, 1915 in Indianapolis to the late Nettie and Harry Ameter.Preceding her in death was her husband of 66 years, J. Kenneth Cooke, in 2004 and her brothers, Earnest and Howard Ameter.She retired in 1974 after 23 years at Allison Division of General Mortors in the Payroll Department. Edna was a member of the Northminster Presbyterian Church where she volunteered on a regular basis. An accomplished cook, she always enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing golf and bridge and was a member of the Sunnyside Guild.She was a 1932 graduate of Shortridge High School.Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Marilyn; grandchildren, Scott (Melissa) Cooke and Kelli (Bill) Green; five great-grandchildren, Alex and Ellie Cooke and Abbi, Megan and Samantha Green.Viewing will be from 10AM until 2PM with a funeral service at 2:30PM on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 in the Leppert Mortuary Nora Chapel, 740 E 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46240. Interment services immediately following in the Washington Park East Cemetery.
