Arthur J. Schuessler
Fort Branch, IN ? Arthur J. Schuessler, 84, of Eddyville, KY, formally of Fort Branch, IN, died June 13, 2011 at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. He graduated from Reitz High School in 1944 and he attended Purdue University. He farmed and retired from Alcoa in 1989 after 24 years. At their home in Paradise Hills on Barkley Lake, he enjoyed boating, fishing, and visiting with family and friends. For several years he enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Sophia Schuessler, and one sister Marcella Winstead.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Block Schuessler, and four children: Connie Woods (Tom) of Vincennes, IN, and their son Thomas Woods (Ashleigh) of Indianapolis, IN; Allen Schuessler, of Eddyville, KY, and his daughter Lisa Hunt (Carl) of Westfield, IN; Judy Blackburn (Chuck) of Wentzville, MO, and their children Jared Blackburn, of Louisville, KY, Julie McGranahan (Chris) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jamie Brown (Ronnie) of Lexington, KY; Sandra Dubuque (Gary) of Georgetown, IN, and their children Chris Dubuque (Penny) Jeffersonville, IN, Sara Miller (David) of Honolulu, HI, and Kerry Dubuque (Dana) of Evansville, IN.
He was blessed with and loved his eleven great grandchildren: Valerie Miller and Heather Hunt; Jared and Jasmine Blackburn and Ian and Logan McGranahan; Elaina and Isabella Dubuque and Peyton and Justice Miller and Hunner Oliver.
Viewing will be Thursday June 16 from 4-8pm at Stodghill Funeral Home, HWY 168 West, Fort Branch, IN. The service and burial will be held at 10am Friday June 17 at Saint Lucas United Church of Christ, HWY 168 East, Fort Branch, IN. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Saint Lucas United Church of Christ, HWY 168 East, Fort Branch, IN or your favorite charity.
