Hello Ursula,
Thank you for the quick reply. Had no idea who I was e-mailing to.
I
am retired here in Florida and recently been trying to add on to my
fathers side of Trapp family. How is it you are interested in the Trapp
family? Contacted the "Bischofliches Ordinariat" in Speyer, Germany
Did this several years ago through a Trapp contact from Dorrenbach,
Germany where my Great Grandfather immigrated from. He and his family
landed in New Orleans on the ship "Bethiah Thayer" December 17th, 1858.
I have struck out trying to find out who Christina Schleppi Trapp
husband was. She was married also to a Joseph Dauer in 1823, at age of
37. Have record of her having Johannes at age 23 as an unmarried daughter
of Lorenz Trapp and Eva Rosina Stungst in the villiage of Hoelschloch.
It's all confusing to me. The Bishops office stated in letter to me "If
the father of the boy confessed being the father he could have his surname
even the parents weren't married". This concerning Johannes.
As your records show my Great grandfather was Johannes Georg Trapp.
His son John Trapp, born 4-28--1859, died 9-9-1930 in Mt. Carmel,
Illinois. My father Peter P. Trapp, born 4-24-19-1887, died 7-10-1972 also
in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. For myself I was born 5-18-1926. Still doing
well at 85. Worked in retailing for 39 years for the K-Mart company.
Hope I haven't bored you with this long e-mail. If interested in
more
of family members just let me know.
Best to you in your teaching,
James.
